BetaCake : Upcoming Changes

Hello everyone.

First of all i must apologize for the lack of updates for the last couple of days. I have been kept busy with real life issues and couldn’t find enough free time to deal with e-mails and all that.

This post is supposed to update you all on what’s going to happen over the next two days.

I’ve decided that limiting the website to MMORPGs only is a bad idea. There’s many FPS and single player games coming out soon which are all highly anticipated by the gaming community and I strongly believe its the right time to expand BetaCake with the coverage of more games / genres.

Branching out to more games / genres is one thing. The other thing is something i started planning a while ago. Which is moving the blog on the same server the forums are on and also place everything under the betacake.net domain. It will make my life easier, but mostly yours too, since everything will be easily accessible from one place.

The new blog will be using the self-hosted WordPress blogging platform, something i’m not familiar with. However, I’ve created an almost identical blog to make the moving process even easier for you, the viewers.

There will be distinct differences between this blog and the new one, mostly visual but a few functional as well. Most importantly though, the self-hosted WP blog, will allow me to post virtually anything I desire.

I will let you all know when the switch is about to happen, although i assume its going to be as seamless as the forums migration was.

So, get ready because the weather forecast predicted “cloudy, with a chance of cake”.
